LiORA Watercolor/Mixed Media works on paper
Liora's work is a reflection of her unique vision of the world. She attended Parsons School of Design in New York, which honed her eye for design and color. Living and traveling in Europe as an adult has had a great influence, as evidenced in her European series. Liora grew up in Norwalk, Connecticut, and has been living and working mostly in South Florida since 1986. She has been a full time artist since the late eighties.
Exhibits include curating and exhibiting in “Doing Business As Artist Entrepreneur” (DBA) 2011, a solo show at the Gildor Pastor Center Gallery at The World Trade Center in Monte Carlo, a series of solo shows at the Northern Trust Banks, Broward College and numerous galleries.
Commissions have been created in South Florida for The Stranahan House (their centennial poster), The Bonnet House (historical properties in Fort Lauderdale), Sunfest, Las Olas Art Fairs (5 of their official posters), several restaurants in the south of France, Easter Seals, and the poster for The Red Cross Designer Show House in 2007. Liora designed and created a series of murals at Joe DiMaggio's Children's Hospital. Early in her career, she was commissioned to paint 2 wooden eggs for the White House Easter Egg roll. That year, she was in the company of Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenburg, and Maurice Sendak, to name a few. Those pieces all are housed in the Smithsonian Museum's permanent collection.
Collections include The Smithsonian Museum, the Virginia Beach Center for Contemporary Art, The Art of Living Foundation, and Northern Trust Bank.
In 2011, Liora's signature work, "Wake Up Save the Earth...” was licensed to Oxford University Press for a text book cover, Justice in a Globalized World, by Valentini.
Liora teaches creative painting, Mandala classes and creativity workshops at Artserve. From September 2011 through February 2012, She was leading teacher in "Creative Connections", a grant program funded by the Community Foundation of Broward, through the Art and Culture Center, working with at risk youth in collaboration with three other nonprofit groups.
Liora’s works reflect her passion and love for the planet earth, and her dream of a more peaceful and harmonious world. She is a former member of 2+3, The Artist’s Organization. Her works can be seen in public and private collections around the world.

NOTABLE QUOTES
”These works should not leave Prague!” about a series of 20 works painted in Prague
in the summer of 1998. -Alan Levy, founding editor in chief, Prague Post
“we are really impressed with your beautiful works!” -Andrea Christa Furst, Hundertwasser Museum, Vienna
“bold watercolors....technique reflects Liora’s command of color.” -Mario Tarradell, Miami Herald
“vibrant clarity..recalls the complexities of Kandinsky and the precision of Miro.”
-Robert Sims, Eastsider
"...like fitting together pieces of a puzzle; LiORA superimposes layers of watercolors, collages, crayons and pastels to create bold paintings that seem three dimensional. The paintings, whether a castle or a street scene, flourish and glow. " -Johnny Diaz, Miami Herald
"Wake-Up/Save the Earth" is a compelling gem of a painting by Liora Davis. As if seen from space, the earth is posed on a pedestal. The artist writes the work's title in tiny letters on the left side of the column holding the seemingly fragile orb. On the right side of the column, she adds "Wake up, love the earth and all her magical creatures." This beautiful piece, a reminder of man's smallness in relationship to the cosmos, could go to work a s a poster for environmental consciousness by the United Nations or the government." -Candice Russell, arts critic, March, 2009
